The majestic Chobe elephants are migratory and move 200 kilometres from the Chobe River to the pans of the Southeast of the park during the rainy season. During the harsh dry season, the herds migrate south to north and congregate along the perennial Chobe River and fertile floodplains. Other major species such as Lions, Buffalos, Red Lechwe, Wild Dog, Sable and Roan Antelope are encountered in many areas of the reserve. The sight of the red winter sunsets is spectacular and unforgettable.
